Suklal Saren is a PhD research scholar under the school of Translation and Cultural Studies at the Institute of Language Studies and Research, affiliated to Jadavpur University. He completed Bachelor of Arts in English Hons from Haldia Government College,Vidyasagar University in the year 2017. He completed Master's in English from Visva-Bharati in 2019. Suklal cleared UGC-NET Exam in 2019. Afterwards, he did MPhil (pre-doctoral research) in English from Visva-Bharati in 2022. The topic of his MPhil was 'Psychological Thriller: A Study of the Popular Genre in the 21st Century Popular Fiction and Film Adaptations' under the supervision of Dr. Dipankar Roy, Assoc: Prof. Visva-Bharati. His interested areas of research are Literature and Film adaptations, Film Studies, Popular Culture, Popular Literature, War and the Literature, Literature and the City, Gender and Sexuality, Tribal studies, Indigenous writing in English, and Cultural Studies. He is currently residing in Santiniketan.
